What to prepare for
a recruitment process.
Good preparation helps you explain your experience clearly and ask informed questions. Hiring steps differ by employer and role, so use this as a general guide.
A little preparation can make it easier to describe what you have done and what you are looking for.
1. Read the role carefully
Note the main responsibilities, required skills, location, schedule and employment type. Prepare questions about any details that are unclear.
2. Keep your profile accurate
Update your resume with relevant experience, dates, tools and outcomes you can explain. Be clear about your current city, availability and notice period when asked. Do not include passwords, OTPs, bank details or identity document numbers in an initial application.
3. Prepare examples from your work
Think of specific examples that show how you approached a challenge, worked with others or learned a skill. For technical or operational roles, be ready to describe your contribution and the tools or methods you used.
4. Confirm the process and follow up
Ask who will contact you, what the next stage involves and when you might hear back. If you follow up, keep your note brief and mention the role title.
5. Verify messages and protect yourself
Check that the opportunity and contact details match the organisation’s official channels. Do not share passwords, OTPs or money with an unverified person claiming to recruit for a company. Meridian’s current vacancies are listed on its Careers page; questions can be sent through the official contact page.
Ask for an update if you need clarity.
A role may change or close during hiring. Continue exploring other opportunities while you wait. These tips are general guidance, not a promise of a particular hiring outcome.
